Tune into 5/31 episode of Go Green Sangha Radio@7pm EST. Gloria Ware: A Mother Who Uses Her Gifts to Promote Green Living.

Photo of Green Living Lady/Blogger Gloria Ware

Happy Last Day of May!

Tonight I have the honor of interviewing Gloria Ware, a dynamic green living lady, on the 12th episode of Go Green Sangha Radio at 7pm EST. Click here to hear the show: http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/21325. The theme of the show is "A Mother Who Uses Her Gifts to Promote Green Living." Gloria will share stories from her green living journey and experiences as founder of Black and Into Green blog.

She describes herself as an "avid gardener, lover of the great outdoors, mother, survivor. These titles explain my keen interest in preserving the environment. I love to breathe in clean air while I run, hear the sounds of birds chirping overhead, watch children play outside with their dogs and feel the cool earth on my hands while I garden. I want future generations to enjoy these simple pleasures for centuries to come. This blog was created to share with you ways to enjoy the simple pleasures of our world in a responsible manner and live a healthy, conscious and fulfilling lifestyle." To learn more about Gloria and her green living journey, visit http://blackandn2green.blogspot.com. Her blog Black and Into Green is one of my favorite places to visit for green living news. She provides a wealth of green information. By the way, I read her blog several times a week! It's one of the reasons that I am able to maintain my green living practices!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Ananda

PS: After I submitted my book manuscript to the publisher on May 13, I took a mini break from updating the kg yoga life practices blog. I will update it by the end of this week. Thanks for your patience.

Happy April and Earth Day 2009!

Happy April!
This month kg yoga life practices is celebrating Earth Day on April 22. The 2009 theme is the "Green Generation Campaign." To learn more about Earth Day, visit U.S. Government Earth Day - http://www.earthday.gov/ and Earth Day Network - www.earthday.net/earthday2009.
To expand your appreciation of Mother Earth this month, consider using the Sanskrit word Sukha (means "good space") as your mantra to create space in your spirit, heart, mind, body, breath, and life for a deeper understanding and respect for the planet, human beings, and all living things. Allow this space to be open and receptive to inspiration on how to live more greenfully. To learn more about my green living journey and everyday green tips for everyday people, listen to episode 11 of Go Green Sangha Radio: http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/21325.
In honor of National Poetry Month (http://www.poets.org/), I wrote a poem entitled "Let America Be Green America Again." See below. May you be inspired to make your local community and country more green.

Let America be Green America again.
Turtle Island.
Home.
A place where we can touch the earth.
Breathe fresh air.
Drink clean water.
Build and maintain community gardens.
Eat healthy food.
Honor our indigenous ancestors.
Bow our heads to our hearts without shame from misusing natural resources and disrespecting human beings and living things.

Let America be Green America again.
Turtle Island
Home.
A place where everyone has value.
A place where we understand, appreciate, and celebrate human differences.
A place where we resolve conflict, forgive, have compassion, and live in peace.

Let America be Green America again.
Turtle Island.
Home.
A place where people have access to 21st century education, training opportunities, affordable and comprehensive healthcare, social services, safe housing, stable employment, energy-efficient transportation, and sustainable homes in communities that support their well-being.
A place that offers opportunities to serve each other with our gifts.
A place we can all work together to make our country better.

Let America be Green America again.
Turtle Island.
Home.
A place that offers room to dream and grow.
A place that promotes the expression of creativity.
A place of innovation and endless possibility.

Let America be Green America again.
Turtle Island.
Home.
A place where people can plant seeds of healing and love, and nurture them until they are ready for harvest.
A place fertile enough to give birth to the Age of Aquarius.
A place we can finally embrace and call our own.
