Blessings All,
Happy Yoga Awareness Month - www.yogamonth.org. Yoga Awareness Month is a year-round awareness campaign that peaks in September 2008 with millions of health and socially conscious individuals practicing yoga at thousands of yoga studios, businesses, parks and homes around the globe.
This month kg yoga life practices' classes will focus on the following:
Class Theme: Breathe in the power of peace (Shanti) and allowing it to create union (yoga) in your spirit, mind, heart, body, life, work, and relationships.
Chakra Focus: The class sessions will focus on balancing all seven chakras and the nervous system which is our connection with the physical and spiritual worlds. Our nervous system experiences all emotions from joy to sorrow. For more information on the seven chakras, visit: http://www.shola.co.uk/sholaarewa_chakras.php.
Essential Oil: Chamomile is a calming oil that promotes serenity.
Yoga Pose: The Savasana/corpse pose is a resting pose that calms the brain, relaxes central nervous system and the body, relieves stress and mild depression, helps to lower blood pressure, relaxes the body, and reduces headaches, fatigue, and insomnia.
Mantra: Shanti is a Sanskrit word that means peace.
Goddess: Irene is the Greek goddess of peace.

Yoga Information, Resources, and Events
Since yoga plays a major role in my debut novel, Love's Troubadours - Karma: Book One, I highly recommend that you purchase a copy and get your yoga on: www.lovestroubadours.com/id26.html.
Are you familiar with yoga? If not, read an excerpt about yoga from my upcoming poetic memoir, That Which Awakens Me (iUniverse, Inc. - December 2008).
"Yoga is an African science that originated in ancient Egypt. It was codified by Pantajali, an Indian second century sage who wrote the Yoga Sutra. Yoga utilizes prayer, meditation, chanting, breathing techniques, and physical exercises (postures) to teach one how to balance emotion, action, and intelligence. In Sanskrit, yoga means union with Spirit in our breath, spirit, heart, mind, and body. When we unite every part of ourselves with Spirit, we live in the present moment… the now… the only place we are supposed to be. Living in the present moment allows us to honor, love, and accept ourselves and our bodies as they are. This is one of the greatest gifts we can give to ourselves."
